Just opened a Firi account and deposited about 2,000 kr in bitcoin from an external wallet. The balance shows a few hundred kroner less than the market value. Checked Firi's fee page but it's confusing. Is this the actual deposit fee, or did I do something wrong?
That's the network fee, not a Firi charge. When you send bitcoin from an external wallet, the sender pays a miner's fee to get the transaction confirmed on the blockchain. Firi doesn't add anything on top of that, but they deduct it from the amount that lands in your account.
Last week I sent 0.01 BTC and the fee was 212 kr, about 1.5% of the amount. It varies with network congestion, so it can be higher or lower. Firi shows the exact deduction in the transaction details.
This is separate from their trading fee, which is 0.75% per trade. If you're worried about safety, Firi is regulated by Finanstilsynet, so your funds are covered by their license. Just check the network fee before sending next time, it can sometimes exceed the trading fee.
